LET’S TAKE A TRIP TO PORTO

Colorful facades, azulejos galore, wines from the Douro Valley: after Amsterdam, October invites you to stroll the streets of Porto on this new City Break.

WHAT TO WEAR

Discover Porto in a mere few days. So, instead of bringing a suitcase and succumbing to your overpacker tendencies, opt for our Larry bag. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a day trip around the city, from the Praça da Batalha to the historic Ribeira district, via the Church of the Clerics and the earthenware of the Porto-São Bento train station. Pell-mell: Jay shorts, Walton sneakers, cotton linen Benny shirt or Kenneth t-shirt, in green. And don’t forget to pack what you need for those cool evenings in the town spent browsing at Armazém on the banks of the Douro River, tasting port wine in one of the city’s many wineries, or walking along the rua de Santa Catarina with a Casa Guedes sandwich in hand. Here, we are wearing the Bobby chambray cap (made in Portugal), the Young pants, the Barkley jeans and the Devon jacket, in ecru.

ANTIQUE DEALER

ARMAZÉM

On the banks of the Douro, Armazém convenes in a former warehouse of 1500 square meters – where absolutely everything is on sale – of antiques departments. If you want a trip down vintage lane, you can find antique toys, vintage cars and musical instruments which are displayed next to an exhibition space and a bar-restaurant with a beautiful terrace.

CASA GUEDES

Since it opened in 1987, Casa Guedes has been making the roasted ham hock sandwich, which has become its specialty, (and a must have in the city). To be enjoyed at 130 Praça dos Poveiros, this historic spot, or find it at its new address, next to the Church of the Clerics. And of course, it’s this mythical sandwich that our model of the day Corentin held in his hand during this shoot.

MAUS HÁBITOS

Because “art can’t be well behaved”, this hybrid space, located on the top floor of a parking lot, chose to call itself Maus Hábitos (“bad habits”). The day to day programs include experimental film screenings, punk rock and jazz concerts and stand-up comedy (among other things).
