This week, Octobre meets Enzo Lefort, fencing world champion and Olympic runner-up…
A MEMORABLE MATCH?
“The quarter-final of the World Cup in Paris in 2014 when I won 15 against 14 and then won the competition. This was my first podium and my first World Cup victory!”
HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU RECEIVED YOUR FIRST OLYMPIC MEDAL?
“Great pride and the feeling that all the years of training had finally paid off!”
TELL US ABOUT YOUR TRAINING FOR THE TOKYO OLYMPICS…
“I train 5 hours a day on average, from Monday to Friday by mixing fencing, physical and weight training. Also, I do at least 1 hour of yoga per week and try to watch what I eat … But not too much, otherwise what’s the point of doing so much sport? ;) ”
WHAT IS YOUR BEHIND THE MASK PHOTOBOOK?
“Far too often, fencing is perceived as a sport reserved for the social elite. With Behind the Mask, I wanted to show the diversity that exists within the France team. By looking beyond our differences, we can win our medals together… ”
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY INSPIRATIONS?
“A friend of mine, Julien Soulier, is the photographer who made me want to shoot … I really like Martin Parr’s work as well and Vincent Desailly’s book called The Trap.”
YOUR FAVORITE PIECE IN YOUR WARDROBE?
“These pants from the brand Undercover… They are really well cut, very light and very warm! The perfect ally for walking the streets of the capital in the freezing cold.”
